Horses and dogs are time consuming and emotional, not to mention expensive, but they also bring to us the most rewarding partnerships in life. I am lucky to have an amazing support crew led by my husband Keith.

Without Keith's support, mentoring and endless amount of patience I wouldn't be sane and we wouldn't be opening Broadland Equestrian!
So who is in our team?
Mami e
Mamie is a Newfoundland. She is nearly 5 years old and weighs 9.5 stone. Mamie travels everywhere with us and all our horses love her (based on the kill or cure theory of horse meets dog!). She is great company to have around and a good talking point at the shows. With her laid back attitude, loyalty and loveable attitude in life she has a great influence on us all.
Riverdon (Ritz)

Ritz is a 9 year old dark bay Rubenstein/Donnerhall gelding currently at 16.2hh. The Rubenstein line is known for temperament and trainability. We took him slowly over his first twelve months to allow him to grow and develop. He has been away for lessons and clinics and has started his competitive career in 2009 with good results. He has won all of his Prelim tests this year with 75%+ and qualified for the summer semi-finals. He has done a few Novices gaining very good scores and is working at Advanced Medium at home. He is a forward going people person, eager to please, quick to learn and has a very exciting future ahead of him.
Kemsource Dakota (Dakota)

Dakota was purchased from Gary Williams in January 2004 when she was rising 4 years old. She is now 9 years old and working Advanced Medium/Advanced level at home. We have established single changes and started tempi changes recently and her half steps and passage is coming along nicely. She will soon be ready for top hat and tails! She is a 16.1hh Grey Don Larino (Don Primero/Donnerhall) mare. Dakota and I have been on a long journey and have learnt lots along the way with a great partnership. Dakota's breed lines are superb and she has incredible range of movement with a fantastic hind leg. She is very intelligent and learns quickly loving her lateral work. I am proud to say she has developed into a fine young lady!
Dakota won the Warwickshire Area Festival 2008 at Medium and was a joy to ride!
Baren Boim (Baz)

Baz is a sad tale to be told. I had to retire him in the summer of 2007 due to severe neurological problems at the age of only 9. Together we have achieved many of my dreams and ambitions, not least when after a month off work he did me proud at the British Dressage National Finals at Stoneleigh!
I bought Baz 4 years ago from Gary Williams and trained him from Novice to Advanced. He now looks amazing and is thoroughly enjoying early retirement in the field, keeping the others in check whilst maintaining his 'Boss' status! He is a true gentleman that loves people and TLC (which he gets in abundance).
Baz is loving his second year of retirement and is now well enough to be occasionally lunged for fun. |
